Privacy Policy
Version 1.0
Privacy-first design
Sound on Paper is designed so uploaded audio is encrypted in the browser before storage. We aim to avoid access to stored audio by default. Your recovery words are not stored by us, and losing it may make encrypted content unrecoverable.
Information we collect
- Account information, such as email address and password hash.
- Terms acceptance records, including version and acceptance time.
- Encrypted audio files and encrypted piece metadata.
- Object size, MIME type, and storage keys needed for quotas and playback.
- Privacy-friendly event counts, such as scans, plays, completes, and downloads.
- Reports, copyright notices, counter-notices, and enforcement records.
Analytics
We use minimal analytics for creators and service operation. The app is designed not to store raw IP addresses in piece event records.
Reports and moderation
If a listener reports a piece, the report may include the piece URL needed to review the reported content. We may use reports and copyright notices to investigate misuse, disable pieces, and enforce the Terms of Service.
Service providers
We use service providers for hosting, database storage, object storage, authentication infrastructure, and payments. These providers process data as needed to operate the service.
Copyright and legal requests
For copyright-related requests, see the Copyright Policy.
